  • $48,814 to Florida Senior Programs (RSVP) to fund a volunteer outreach specialist for the Amachi program to recruit, train, schedule and supervise volunteers who are mentoring children of incarcerated parents.
  • $69,175 to Intervention Services to provide a two-year grant to support a full-time overnight supervisor for a residential program for youth aging out of foster care. www.isifl.org

  • $96,941 to Legal Aid Society of Orange County to fund their Building Forever Families project to assist foster children by reducing the average time from termination of parental rights to adoption from the current 9 months to 4 months. www.legalaidocba.org

  • $115,000 in three separate grants to The Salvation Army to improve the security system for the women’s shelter and to contribute to the local holiday campaigns for 2007and 2008. www.salvationarmyorlando.org
  • $300,000 to Fresh Start Ministries of Central Florida toward the construction of a new residential center for their faith-based program to rehabilitate men with substance abuse problems. www.freshstartministries.com
  • $300,000 to Catholic Charities of Central Florida by agreeing to allow Shepherd’s Promise to transfer to them property originally purchased by a combination grant and loan.  After it is renovated, this property will be used as a counseling and education center for women with children.
  • $320,723 in two separate grants to Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando to cover the costs for the first two years of a three year pilot program to stabilize and assist low income working families become self-sufficient and to expand this successful program to other organizations in the Central Florida community. www.jfsorlando.org
